This policy explains what personal data Zervivo App Private Limited collects, why, who we share it with and the rights you have. It is our notice under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. It applies to the Townly app and website.

1. Who we are

Townly is a product of Zervivo App Private Limited, No. 15, CLC Works Road, Chromepet, Nemilichery, Tambaram, Kanchipuram 600044, Tamil Nadu. Zervivo App Private Limited decides how and why your personal data is processed. Under the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary for your data.

2. Data we collect

  • Account details: your name, phone number, email address and profile photo if you add one.
  • Location: your saved addresses and, only while you use the app and with your permission, your device location.
  • Bookings: the services you book, times, addresses, messages with Pros, photos you share, ratings and reviews.
  • Payments: transaction records and refund history. Card and UPI details are collected by our payment partners, not stored by Townly.
  • Pro details: for Pros, identity documents such as Aadhaar (masked) or PAN, background check results, bank account details for payouts, GST details and earnings history.
  • Support: messages and call notes when you contact us.
  • Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, crash logs and how you use the app.

Financial information and identity documents are sensitive. We collect them only where needed, protect them with stronger controls and limit who can see them.

3. Why we use it

We process your data on the basis of your consent, or for legitimate uses allowed under section 7 of the DPDP Act, such as providing a service you asked for or meeting a legal obligation. We use it to:

  • Create and manage your account and verify your phone number.
  • Show Pros and Deals near you, and manage bookings from request to payment.
  • Process payments, refunds and Pro payouts, and meet tax and accounting rules.
  • Verify Pros and keep the platform safe, including preventing fraud and misuse.
  • Send booking updates and, if you opt in, offers and news.
  • Handle support requests and complaints.
  • Improve Townly using aggregated or de-identified data.
  • Comply with the law and with valid requests from government authorities.

4. Ratings and automated decisions

We use ratings, cancellation rates and complaints to keep quality high. A Pro whose ratings stay low may be limited or removed from Townly. Decisions to remove a Pro are reviewed by a person, and Pros can ask us to review a decision.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only when needed:

  • With the Pro you book: your name, service address, job details and a masked phone number where possible.
  • With shops when you redeem a Deal: only what’s needed to apply the offer.
  • With our Data Processors, such as payment partners, cloud hosting, SMS and WhatsApp providers, maps and background-check agencies. They act only on our instructions, under contracts that require them to protect your data.
  • With government authorities and law enforcement when the law requires it.
  • With a company that takes over Townly’s business, which must continue to protect your data under this policy.

6. Processing outside India

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside India. We only transfer data to countries the Government of India has not restricted under section 16 of the DPDP Act, and with safeguards to protect it.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above. When you delete your account, or the purpose is complete, we erase your personal data, except records we must keep by law. For example, payment and tax records are kept for up to 8 years, and security logs for the period required by applicable rules.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you can:

  • Get a summary of the personal data we process about you and who we have shared it with.
  • Correct, complete or update inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to erase your data, or delete your account from the app settings.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, for example for location access or marketing. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing already done, but some features may stop working.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to act.
  • Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and if you aren’t satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, use the app settings or email grievance@townlyindia.com. We may ask you to verify your identity first.

9. Security and breaches

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, regular security reviews and staff training to protect your data.

No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, and CERT-In where required, within the timelines set by law.

10. Children

Townly is only for people aged 18 and over, and we don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Our website

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when you visit. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that data.

If you use the contact form, it opens your own email app, and we receive only what you choose to send.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.

13. Grievance Officer

For any privacy question or complaint, contact our Grievance Officer:

  • Name: [Grievance Officer name]
